Greenergy introduces market leading card scheme for independent dealers
6th October 2016
Greenergy, the UK's leading supplier of petrol and diesel, is rolling out a new contactless card scheme to its independent retail customers following the completion of a ten-week trial.
Replacing the legacy Esso system, the Greenergy scheme delivers significantly lower transactional costs combined with greater functionality and improved service levels.
Territory Manager Ronald Skimming, who is leading the card project within Greenergy, explained:
"We have listened to our customers to ensure our scheme delivers the optimum combination of cost, functionality and service advantages. We consider this to be the best of the card schemes available in the marketplace and a significant enhancement to our dealer offer."
“We already have more than 100 dealers using the scheme; we are continuing our rollout our other dealers over the coming months.”
In particular the scheme:
- Allows dealers to accept contactless payments as well as fuel cards, offer cash back and process cardholder-not-present transactions
- Is compatible with existing loyalty schemes including Tesco Clubcard as well as others planned for later in the year
- Provides flexible payment terms, with one or three day payment for bank cards and four day for fuel cards
- Offers 7 day technical support through HTeC.
Greenergy customers have provided positive feedback:
Andy Smith, Group Forecourt Manager at Westmorland Ltd: “The new Greenergy card scheme has resulted in a noticeable improvement in the time it takes to process transactions and the contactless payment facility has proved very popular with our customers.”
Shailesh Parekh of Midland Link service station: “I am very pleased with the Greenergy card scheme as it allows the acceptance of all cards through one terminal. I have chosen the transaction plus one day option which means that I get the money for the debit and credit card transactions the next day.”
